What Does it Take to Become Travis Rice?

travis-riceTravis Rice is an elite level snowboarder, one of the greatest of all times. Do you have what it takes to be the next Travis Rice? Have you considered what you should do to attain such a status? Here are some tips and tricks to work your way to becoming an elite level snowboarder.

Let’s start with something that you can get to work on right now! Nutrition is king and if you’re not taking your nutrition seriously, you’re going to end up a court jester. Here is a list of things you should do: Body Composition Analysis – Obtain an analysis of your body composition, preferably using a machine like an InBody or a Bod Pod. The number you want to know is your basal metabolic rate (BMR). Knowing your BMR will allow you to tailor your nutrition plan because your BMR tells you how many calories your body burns in a day when at rest. Using your BMR, you can calculate how many calories you burn when shredding up the slopes. Plan and Prepare – Use your BMR to put together your meal plans. If you do not have any competitions on the calendar, or you have not started competing yet, then plan your meal plans leading up to a point when you have a big snow board test or set up a friendly competition with your friends.
Once you have your meal plan in hand, begin every week by preparing your meals so that when you are out, for example at school or work, you will not be tempted to eat junk. Stick to your meal plan!
